This is the first in a series of open, regular forums where local people set the agenda. Every decision we make is guided by what’s best for residents - not party politics or national agendas.
Let’s be honest - politics feels more toxic than ever, even at local level. Here at Hertsmere First, we see first-hand how endless party arguments get in the way of what really matters: making our borough safer, cleaner and fairer for everyone. Too much time spent on arguments and point scoring, not enough on actually fixing things.
Councillors Marc Amron, Graeme Alexander and The Mayor of Hertsmere, Alpha Collins, didn’t get into local politics for arguments or to push party agendas. We did it because we genuinely care about Hertsmere and the people who live in the borough; and we want to do our very best to get things done.
Whether it’s tackling antisocial behaviour, improving parking and enforcement, pushing for common sense and solutions in housing and planning, or making sure every penny of taxpayer money is spent in the best possible way, our focus is always on practical results and not party lines.
We will work with anyone, from any party or none, who genuinely wants to improve life here in Hertsmere, because at the end of the day, residents really don’t care what colour your rosette is, they care about whether you’re making a difference.
That’s why we’re launching the Hertsmere First Residents’ Forum - a new way for local people to share ideas, raise concerns, and shape priorities directly with us.
Our goal is simple: to give residents a real voice in how our borough is run, free from party politics.
Let’s bring the focus back to Community not Conflict.
